Essie Spring 2013 Resort Collection

I don't know about you girls, but Spring is my favorite time of the year when it comes to nail polishes.  It is the time of year when companies come out with the prettiest pastels and brights and I find way too many polishes that I "need" to own.  Essie has hit is out of the park this spring with their Resort 2013 collection. I love all the colors but I am especially drawn the gorgeous aqua color called In the Cab-ana. It is essentially a tropical vacation in a bottle and I can't stop staring at my hands. It is super opaque and I only painted one coat in the picture below which is amazing!

I also added Essie's Set in Stones to my ring finger for an accent nail and I have recieved so many complements on my nails! If you are interested run out and get one because they seem to be very popular and I had a hard time tracking one down. If you have any must have spring polishes, please leave your recommendations in the comments.

Fab French Nails

Hi Ladies! I was playing around with my nail polish and came up with this amazing nail look that I just had to share. French nails look so classy, and using glitter as the french tip definitely takes it up a notch. I have gotten so many compliments on this look and it was super easy to achieve.

I used two Essie colors for this look:

  • Topless and Barefoot
  • Set in Stones

First, paint two to three coats of Essie's Topless and Barefoot on your nails until they are opaque. Next, take Essie's Set in Stones and lightly drag it across the top of each nail to draw the tip. The glitter makes the application pretty easy because it looks precise if the overall line is even. You can also go over it and touch up the line with more glitter if necessary. Let your nails dry for ten minutes or so before painting on a clear top coat to seal in the glitter....and voila, beautiful french nails with a kick!

Essie Topless & Barefoot

Topless & Barefoot was released back in the spring with Essie's A French Affair Collection. I almost purchased it back then, but I was trying to cut back on cosmetic purchases so I passed on it. My nail polish collection has grown exponentially this past year!

Anyways, I kept thinking about it so I finally broke down and ordered it last week. Topless & Barefoot is a light nude creme polish that is more pink than beige. It is a very modern and sophisticated color for the nail. It is the opposite of flashy and makes for a very poised and polished look.

The application of topless & barefoot is a little bit streaky but after three coats my nails looked pretty good. It lasted a couple days before it chipped so it has average wear. This color would be perfect for anyone who wants an understated, polished look. Colors like this one are great for a professional environment where bright colors may not be appropriate.

Has anyone tried Essie's Topless & Barefoot? If not what is your favorite nude/natural nail polish color?

Essie Knockout Pout

Hi Ladies! Summer is here and bright nail polish colors are all the rage. There is nothing more perfect than bright, sassy nails to accessorize your bikini. Right now I am loving Essie's Knockout Pout which is a bright pink cream shade. The color is super fun and the name of this polish is too cute!

It is almost looks neon, but not quite. Knockout Pout is pretty opaque since I only had to do two coats. The finish is pretty matte so I would definitely recommend a clear top coat to finish off the look. In honor of the polish name, I had to do a "knockout pout" expression in the picture below ;) Tell me your favorite bright summer polish in the comments below. -Stacy

What I am Wearing: Essie Van D Go

Hi Ladies! I have been on a major Essie kick lately. Don't get me wrong, I still like OPI, China Glaze, and drugstore polishes, but there is just something about Essie lately that has really got my attention. Essie has a wide selection of soft pastel colors which are my absolute favorites! After hearing rave reviews on Youtube and Blogs for Essie Van D Go, I had to have this shade.

Van D Go is a gorgeous pastel peachy-pink color that has a cream finish. The formula is pretty good and the color is opaque in two to three coats. Used with my Seche Vite top coat, this polish stayed nice for about 5 days. By the way, if you do not use Seche Vite as a top coat, you must try it. Seriously, it's life-changing...and dries super fast. Anyways, I found Van D Go at my local Ulta, but I have not seen it available at CVS. Let me know what nail polishes you are currently loving! -xoxo, Stacy

What I am Loving: Essie Turquoise & Caicos

I absolutely love springtime, with it's blooming flowers and warmer weather. I especially love that bright nail polish is back in again, because in all honesty, I am not the biggest fan of dark nail polishes. In the spirit of Spring, I purchased Essie's Turquoise & Caicos nail polish.

Turquoise & Caicos is a gorgeous, bright turquoise cream nail polish, and I am obsessed! This polish reminds me of the beach and it seriously has me longing for a tropical getaway. The formula itself is good and the color is pretty opaque. I used two coats of polish in my pictures but I would probably do three next time. Essie polishes stay nice for several days without chipping when I use a top coat. I have worn this polish for five days, and as you can see in the pictures, there is minimal chipping. Pretty darn good in my book ;)

Turquoise and Caicos is similar to China Glaze's For Audrey but I personally prefer the Essie polish. I was also considering Essie's Mint Candy Apple but Turquoise & Caicos is more unique and I like the color a little better. I know this color was from a collection last year, but I have seen it in several stores, including CVS and Ulta so it shouldn't be too hard to find. What are your favorite spring nail polishes? Let me know in the comments below.

Happy St Patti's Day!

Hi Ladies! I apologize for my lapse in blogging. I have been trying to be good and cut down my makeup shopping. Anyways, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, I decided to paint my nails a bright green, which is so unlike me. The color is called "Pretty Edgy" by Essie and I believe it was part of the summer 2010 collection. The formula was really good and it only took two coats to look polished. Since I don't have anything green to wear, this polish should keep me from getting pinched ;). I hope you all have a great St. Patrick's Day!

Essie Summer 2010 Collection

I am so excited that I finally got my hands on the summer collection by Essie since I had the hardest time finding it in stores! I picked up the mini polishes since I could not find full sizes anywhere. This set came with four colors from the summer collection: Haute As Hello, Knockout Pout, Demure Vixen, and Pretty Edgy.

Haute As Hello is a gorgeous light peach/coral color (pictured below on my nails). It was definitely love at first swipe and I highly recommend that you get your hands on it if you can.

Knockout Pout is a bright barbie/flamingo pink color. It is stunning as well, but not quite as unique as some of the other colors in this collection. It is a must have summer color and looks great on the toes if you are looking for a fun splash of color.

Pretty Edgy is a vivid palmetto green which is pretty, but green nail polish is not really my thing. I am sure I will find use for this one around Christmas or St. Patty's Day, but that's about it.

Demure Vixen is iridescent cocoa mauve, and the softest color of this set. The subtle iridescence in it makes the color interesting and unique. I will definitely be using this color come fall since I am on a bit of a bright color kick this summer.

If you want to snag any these shades, get on it now because they are limited and won't be available much longer, although there is always eBay!
