I am a fan of EOS (Evolution of Smooth) and their egg shaped lip balms. So naturally, when I saw this portable hand lotion added to the EOS website, I knew I wanted to try it. EOS said Rite Aid would be carrying this product come January 2011 and I have been watching for it. Well I found it today in my Rite Aid and it was the last one left! This lotion was in the isle with other hand and body lotions if anyone else is interested in tracking it down. It retails for about $3.99 and contains 1.5 oz.
The Hand lotion is called Refresh and the scent is cucumber. The scent reminds me of Bath and Body Works cucumber melon, but not quite as strong. The consistency of the lotion is on the thinner side, but it seems to be very moisturizing. It does not feel greasy like some lotions tend to do.
The packaging of this product is super cute. It is shaped like a pod and reminds me of a smooth stone. The packaging is very ergonomic with an indentation on the backside is perfect for fingers to hold. There is a cap that flips open at the bottom to dispense the product.
The EOS hand lotion is all natural, hypoallergenic, and free of parabens and phthalates. I love that their products strive to be as organic and natural as possible. Overall, I really like this hand lotion and it is the perfect size to fit in my purse. Thanks EOS for another great product!

Mac Cham-Pale Part Deux
Hi Ladies! I was bad and went back to buy more stuff from the Cham-Pale collection. I am such a sucker for these beautiful shimmery neutral shades. In addition to the I get no kick eye pencil and lavender fix +, I bought four additional items. I purchased Chez Chez Lamé Special Reserve Highlight Powder, the paint pots Chilled on Ice and Vintage Selection, and the infamous Bubble Lounge Lipgelée! I was able to order these items through Nordstrom even though my store was sold out of these items. I was especially excited to get my hands on Bubble Lounge because it was initially sold out everywhere, but Nordstrom got replenishment! Check out this gorgeous color in the picture below:
I Get No Kick is a soft champagne eye pencil with a metallic sheen. See my original Cham-Pale post below for more details on this item. Chez Chez Lamé is a soft gold highlight powder with a silver sheen. The texture is very smooth and it gives a subtle glow to the skin. It is much less noticeable than a MAC mineralize skinfinish. It is somewhat similar to Nars Albatross but they are not exactly the same.
Vintage selection is a medium taupe brown with a hint of peach. It is very frosty but not sparkly. I like it for neutral looks, but to be honest I could have lived without this one. Chilled on Ice is a cool-toned shimmery pale yellow gold. The color of this product is gorgeous on my eyes, but the sparkles get everywhere if I am not careful. Another complaint I have about Chilled on Ice is that the color itself is pretty sheer.
Lastly, Bubble Lounge is a pink champagne glittered gloss with silver and pink sparkle. It looks gorgeous over light pink or nude lipsticks. I absolutely love this gloss, even though I am not really big on sparkle on the the lips. Below are swatches of all of my Cham-Pale items (except Fix + because it's clear).

Overall, I am enjoying my new Cham-Pale products. I cannot believe how many collections Mac is launching in such a short period of time. I skipped the Stylishly Yours and Peacocky Collections because I have been buying way too much lately. I think the next collection being launched is Wonder Women. I am on the fence about this collection. I feel like the packaging is kind of tacky, although it is a cartoon so what would I expect lol. What do you girls think about the Wonder Women Collection? Let me know in the comments below.Sunday, January 16, 2011
EOS Lip Balm Review
I love the EOS (Evolution Of Smooth) lip balm. I have been using this lip balm for over a year now and it is my favorite drugstore lip balm out there. EOS first sparked my interest when it kept showing up on beauty blogs that I follow in summer of 2009. I wanted to try it out, but I could not find it anywhere. I finally located the Summer Fruit flavor at my local Rite Aid and I was hooked.
The first thing about the EOS lip balm that caught my attention was the innovative packaging. The case is a smooth sphere which twists open to reveal a dome shaped lip balm. It reminds me of a cute little Easter Egg and I adore the packaging.
The lip balm itself smells and feels great. It applies smoothly on the lips, but it is not at all waxy like other brands I have tried. EOS just leaves a thin layer on the lips and lasts a decent amount of time. This lip balm is offered in five flavors, and I have tried three of them. I have tried Summer Fruit, Honeysuckle Honeydew, and Lemon Drop. The Lemon Drop flavor is my favorite, with Honeysuckle Honeydew as a close second. Lemon Drop contains spf 15 and has a slightly creamier texture than the other flavors.
The best part about this lip balm is that it's 100% Natural and 95% organic. It is formulated with shea Butter and vitamin E, and is free of parabens and phthalates. This wonderful little balm retails for around $3 to $4 dollars at the drugstore and can be found at Walgreens or Rite Aid. I am really impressed with this product and I can't wait to try other products from this line. Have you tried the EOS lip balm? Tell me you opinion in the comments.

MAC Cham Pale
Hi Everyone! I hope you guys had a good New Years! I am lagging a little bit on this post since Cham-Pale launched on the 26th of December. I checked out the collection last week and purchased two items. I was intending to buy a couple more things, but by the time I made it to the counter several items were already sold out :(
Cham-Pale is a collection of soft neutral shimmery colors. MAC describes Cham-Pale as a cuvée colour collection that is a champagne smash, shimmering with bubbly optimism and golden glow. I love the soft neutral colors of this collection. Most of the color names have champagne or wine references. For a list of all the items in this collection, visit Temptalia.com
I purchased the Eye Kohl in I Get No Kick and Fix + in Lavender. I Get No Kick is and soft champagne nude with metallic sheen. It is a really pretty highlight for the inner corner or possibly for the waterline to brighten up the eyes. I like it much better than a stark white liner because this looks more natural. I also got Fix+ in Lavender because it smelled amazing and I use Fix + on a regular basis.
I was also interested in the Paint Pots, the Lipgelees, and the Caviar Dreams Quad. Many of the Lipgelees were already sold out as were most of the Paint Pots. The Paint Pots were much more sheer and sparkly than I expected which was disappointing. Vintage selection was the most opaque out of the four.
I was most interested in the Chilled On Ice Paint Pot, but I hesitated because it looked very close to Bare Study (which I own). My friend Ashley bought it and I got to try hers out and now I need it. It is a cool-toned shimmery pale yellow gold. I will most likely go back and get more things from Cham-Pale (Darn you MAC and you Limited Edition Collections!) so I will keep you updated on what I end up getting. What do you girls think of Cham-Pale? Leave me a comment and tell me what you got. Thanks for reading!

I am loving........NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
I have been using NARS Sheer Glow Foundation on and off for about a year now. It is one of the best foundations I have ever tried. The reason I wanted to rave about it now is because it has been especially great for me during the last couple months. I get really pale in the winter and I have the hardest time finding a foundation that is light enough for my skin-tone and will blend in flawlessly. This second to lightest shade, Mont Blanc, is a perfect match for me and finish of this foundation is gorgeous.
The NARS Sheer Glow foundation is described as a satin-finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage. It is one of those foundations that does not need a setting powder to look finished although I usually like to set it with my mineralize skinfinish natural by MAC. It contains no SPF so it is great for taking photographs, especially with flash. I would consider it a light-medium coverage foundation as it provides coverage but still looks very natural. My only complaint is that the foundation doesn't come with a pump, so it is easy to waste product when pouring it out of the container. NARS recently started selling pumps for the foundations on their website, so I may be ordering one soon :) If you are curious to try out this foundation, I highly recommend you ask for a sample at your local counter. Let me know your thoughts on NARS Sheer Glow Foundation.

A Little Makeup Splurge: Chanel & YSL
Hi Girls, I am sorry I have not posted in awhile. I recently went shopping and decided to splurge on two high-end makeup items that I have been lusting over for some time. I purchased the YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in #1 Nude Beige and the Chanel quad in Mystic Eyes. They are both gorgeous and perfect neutral shades for everyday wear.

I originally was interested in the Rouge Volupte color #7 Lingerie Pink but when I tried it on in the store it was way too barbie looking on me. The Nude Beige color is very subtle pinky-nude color which looks good with basically any makeup look. I will admit it that the gorgeous lipstick packaging also suckered me in making this purchase lol. The classy gold tube with YSL detailing is stunning, and it even comes with a mirror on the top of the tube to use when applying the color. Everything about this lipstick is luxe, from the packaging, to the silky texture, to the pleasant smell. This lipstick are extremely pigmented, creamy, and moisturizing which is great, especially in the dry, winter months!

The Chanel Mystic Eyes Quad is pure perfection. Sure you could say this is just another neutral palette, but Chanel always puts together colors that complement each other so well. The Mystic Eyes Quad contains four neutral shades: a light silvery-gray, a soft milky pink, a mid-tone bronzy brown, and a dark chocolate brown. There are many different ways you can wear these eyeshadows. My favorite way is to place the baby pink color on the lid, the bronze in the crease, the dark brown in the outer v, and the silvery gray as the brow-bone highlight color.

Above are the swatches of these products. The first photo was taken indoors and the second one was taken outdoors. I am really loving these products! Yes they may seem expensive, but the quality is outstanding. The colors themselves are not super unique so I am sure you could find similar colors from other companies. Although I cannot speak for the lipstick, I have had my first Chanel quad since high school so I know that this one will last a long time. Have any of you girls tried either of these products? Let me know in the comments.

Hit or Miss: Clinique All About Eyes Serum
I have been using this product every night for a couple of months and I am sad to say that it is a miss in my book. I have used over half of the bottle and I have not really seen any results. Clinique claims that the All About Eyes Serum helps massage away bags and refreshes eyes, and combats dark circles while brightening the eye area.
To be fair, I don't really have any under-eye puffiness and I purchased this product more for the dark circles and brightening effect. I have not noticed any difference in my dark circles which is disappointing. I have not noticed any brightening effect either. The serum itself feels really nice and cooling on my eyes. It feels very refreshing and helps hydrate my eye area.
